EDexpo: The Place to Plot Your Course

By Tina Manzer

Are you navigating your business down an unfamiliar path? Has your marketing plan hit a roadblock? Are you creating enough turns throughout the year? Need a compass to figure out where the education industry is heading?

Don’t set off in the wrong direction. Go straight to EDexpo. There’s no other tradeshow like it for providing insight into our ever-changing market. It offers a look into today’s teaching trends, innovative new products, and provides tips to make your unique business succeed. EDexpo is right there in Nevada, March 15 through 17.

The staff at the Education Market Association plans its annual event to present the most helpful information it can in the most efficient and convenient way possible. It brings the whole industry together under one roof, in one compact three-day timeframe, to view product exhibits, learn at education sessions, and have fun together at parties.

To show you what we mean, take a look at the schedule, right.

It all takes place at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino, famous as the “home” of Elvis when he was in town to perform.

EDexpo attendees do not have to leave the Westgate if they don’t want to – dining options there cover everything from Italian fare to Japanese cuisine, and there’s live entertainment in addition to the casino. But the Westgate also features a monorail station for visitors who want to experience the excitement off-campus on the Las Vegas strip.

Don’t miss these fun and information-rich opportunities

The Hot Products Luncheon: where dealers can satisfy their appetite for product knowledge. Discover which products may be your bestsellers this year. Everyone gets a goody bag full of new items for 2017-2018, valued at more than $100!

The Show ’n Tell Dinner is hosted by vendors for dealers to experience firsthand what’s new in games, kits and other hands-on activities. It’s a great place to meet new people and discover selling techniques that work.

EDtalks: The Dealer Idea Roundup is a unique education opportunity in which individual dealers share their greatest ideas in five minutes or less! Everyone leaves with countless tips to use in their stores, on their websites and in their catalogs.

The EDfest Mardi Gras Celebration honors the oldest annual Carnival celebration in the U.S. (and it did not take place in New Orleans).

At the Annual Meeting & Awards Presentation, Gregory Cooney of Frank Cooney Company will be honored as the latest recipient of the David McCurrach Distinguished Service Award, and the Eddy Awards for best new products will be presented. In addition, the winners of the John L. Spalding Memorial Scholarship will be announced.
